Porthtowan Beach Blue Flag Clean Beach Winner 2016

Porthtowan Beach is a sandy beach that at low tide stretches to around a mile and a half in length, and backed by impressive and dramatic cliffs. From this beach at low tide you can walk to the neighbouring and equally stunning beach at Chapel Porth. This Blue Flag award winning beach is one of Cornwall’s most popular surfing beaches which is set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Porthtowan Beach is also renowned as one of the top family beaches on this coast, the large expanse of sand is perfect for families to enjoy the day, but also at the top end of the beach there’s a children’s play park.

Porthtowan beach has lifeguards during the summer months that patrol each and everyday, from morning till dusk, so you can feel very safe if you fancy a swim. Please be sure to observe the flags, and the beach safety code.
