Harbour Cove Beach

Lying at the mouth of the Camel Estuary is the wide sandy beach of Harbour Cove, also know locally as Tregirls. A beach at low tide stretching for around 1 miles. Though this beach is close to the ever popular Padstow, the beach is relatively quite and unspoilt, with fantastic views across the estuary to Daymer Bay.

When the tide comes in the sand that was the beach is submerged and forms the infamous Doom Bar sand bank that has been a perilous hazard to shipping for centuries, with over 600 ships hitting or being stranded since the 1800s when records began.

Harbour Cove Beach, unfortunately does not have lifeguard cover during the year, so you have to take extra precaution if swimming here. Please be sure to observe the beach safety code.
