Great Western Beach

Great Western is a popular family beach, it is comprised of several coves and backed by high cliffs. The best time to visit this beach is at low tide when Great Western beach joins with Lusty Glaze, Tolcarne Beach and Towan Beach. to create a vast expanse of just over a mile of golden sand. At high tide there is just a small rectangle of sand to be seen.

Access to the beach not the easiest, and is via a steep winding path that is situated by the Great Western Hotel.

Great Western beach has lifeguards during the summer months that patrol each and everyday, from morning till dusk, so you can feel very safe if you fancy a swim. Please be sure to observe the flags, and the beach safety code.
