Crooklets Beach

Crooklets Beach is a west-facing sandy beach in  Bude. At low tide Crooklets beach links with the neighbouring beaches of Summerleaze and Northcott Mouth, exposing a wider expanse of sand and rock pools. This is a very popular beach because of its close location to Bude town centre. Good parking and facilities, including plenty of surf shops to gain some inspiration.

Crooklets is a popular destination for surfers of all standards, its more exposed location providing larger Atlantic swells than Summerleaze. A big draw though is the right-hander that breaks before and just after low tide at Wrangles Rock. At high tide there is the infamous shore break in front of the Bude Surf Livesaving Club. As the tide pushes in a short right comes into play at Cross Rocks, which can be clean in a strong south westerly. Surf can be up to 6ft and the best winds are from the south east or east. Sheltered at high tide from a north / north westerly. To the south, in front of the harbour, a long left hander breaks off Barrel Rock.

Crooklets beach has lifeguards during the summer months that patrol each and everyday, from morning till dusk, so you can feel very safe if you fancy a swim. Please be sure to observe the flags, and the beach safety code.
